Valentine's Day Pilgrimage 2024
February 17 and 18
“For several years now, the Sanctuary has offered to experience Valentine's Day differently: walking as a couple during
a day, in the footsteps of Louis Martin, who loved to walk this path between Roche-Mabille and the Basilica of Alençon. The rest of the weekend takes place at the Sanctuary.
It's about living a weekend to take care of your relationship: the walk is punctuated with little tips to help us discover the power of Christ's Love, and of his Salvation for each of us in our personal lives, in our Sacrament of marriage, and in our couples. Questions are proposed to initiate discussions as a couple during the walk... It's often easier to share in depth, while looking in the same direction, and while walking in the countryside! This fifteen kilometers on foot is also a great opportunity to pray alone or as a couple.
The Valentine's Day dinner, followed by the vigil, allows for beautiful exchanges, allows us to give thanks and also to lay down to the Lord what is heavier.
Father Thierry offers us a Sunday morning reflection on Saints Louis and Zélie, a highlight where we always discover a little more about who they are, and how contemporary they are!
The team accompanying this pilgrimage is each time amazed at the work of the Lord in the hearts of each person. We see the couples leaving happy from this rejuvenating stopover, from these free times under the gaze of God which allowed rich and fruitful exchanges, from this strong time which is the renewal of the grace of this wonderful Sacrament which is marriage. during Sunday morning mass.
Living this experience with Louis and Zélie is a great opportunity and we end Sunday afternoon, by placing our prayer intentions in the cradle of Saint Thérèse... A very moving moment before returning to our families, happy with this beautiful experience. »
