October, the month of the Mission
Editorial of 1er October 2021

Chers amis,
Once again, at the sanctuary of Alençon, the month of October will be rich in events.
It opens today in the Feast of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, by the meeting of the priests of the diocese of Séez with their new bishop Mgr Feillet on this anniversary day of his priestly ordination celebrated precisely on October 1st. A great opportunity to get to know him better and to entrust his ministry to our holy compatriot!
The next day October 2, in the Notre-Dame basilica will take place Rain of Roses celebration, a beautiful time of faith and prayer, which reminds us how much the saints, and Thérèse in particular, have an active posthumous life “in doing good”.
This month will also be an opportunity for the Sanctuary to animate a mission in the East of France from September 30 to October 12 with the relics of Saints Louis and Zélie. Begun in Besançon within the framework of the Mission Congress and continued in Roanne and Grenoble, it will make it possible to awaken children, young people and adults to the good news of the family in the light of parents Martin and Thérèse and to entrust the many intentions of prayer of those who come to meet them.
Among the initiatives of the Sanctuary, let us also note, from October 15 (evening) to October 17,the 1st edition of the “Louis and Zélie Meetings”: “After the crisis, what do we do together? ". Under the patronage of the Martin spouses, themselves company managers, an appointment to question work, in the context of the post-crisis and its consequences on management, trust, the place of women, family life… Interventions, time for sharing and discernment, prayer vigil, with the participation of Ghislain Lafont, founder of the Entretiens de Valpré and Philippe Royer, president of the Christian Entrepreneurs and Leaders movement. A weekend for all professionals in responsibility, looking for a break to take stock where spouses will be welcome...
And to end this month of the mission, family celebration, where the children will be cared for, on October 30 and 31. With the participation of Mgr Bruno Feillet, new bishop of Séez and president of the Family and Society Council of the Conference of Bishops of France, who will deal with the theme: “To love in family, is it to give everything? » and will know how to situate it in the year of the Family. An event not to be missed to renew your marital alliance with the Martin family!
We like to remember the words of Thérèse, which she now shares with her parents: "I do not intend to remain inactive in Heaven, my desire is to still work for the Church and souls, I ask the good God and I am certain that he will hear me”. !
Let them fulfill this word for us!
Father Thierry Hénault-Morel, Rector.
