Covid-19 – Press release from the Louis and Zélie Sanctuary of Alençon

Following the government announcements of Saturday, March 14th and Monday, March 16th, the Sanctuary is implementing the following measures, effective immediately:

• In accordance with the decree of March 15, 2020 concerning measures to combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Martin family homeThe building at 50 rue Saint Blaise remains closed until the lockdown is lifted. All group pilgrimages planned during this period are cancelled.
• La Louis and Zélie Reception Center16, rue Étoupée, the sanctuary's accommodation and catering facility, remains closed until further notice.
• True to its vocation as a house of prayer and hope, the Louis and Zélie Sanctuary offers, throughout the lockdown period, daily prayer times broadcast live From Monday to Saturday on its Facebook page:
  • Meditation excerpts from the Martin family correspondence, particularly those likely to strengthen our courage and hope in these troubled times, at 11:30 am
  • Rosary prayer with the community of Sisters of the sanctuary (Saint Thérèse chapel), at 11:45 am
  • Trade Fair (Saint Thérèse chapel), at 12:15 pm

Let us together remember in our prayers all those affected by this pandemic and its consequences, in our country and throughout the world. Let us especially entrust to our prayers the sick and all healthcare workers. May this collective ordeal, through the reflection and prayer it inspires, contribute to new, more fraternal ways of living. May it lead to a renewed sense of hope, faith, and charity.
