Installation of the Carmelite Messengers of the Holy Spirit in Alençon
Sunday February 2, 2020, on the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, the Diocese of Séez had the joy of welcoming, in the Basilica of Notre-Dame d'Alençon, the Carmelite Sisters, Messengers of the Holy Spirit and to settle in the house of the Martin Family where they succeed the Little Sisters of Saint Thérèse.
Most of the religious communities of the diocese met with Bishop Jacques Habert to celebrate this founding of a new community at the service of the Sanctuary, a privileged place where all nations meet, where families come to confide and where pilgrims allow themselves touched by the Martin family.
After Communion, a Brazilian song of thanksgiving resounded in the Basilica, inviting everyone to contemplation.
During the glass of friendship, the sisters presented their community to the elected officials, parishioners and diocesan present and, as a welcome gift, offered a choreography to the tune of “To love is to give everything” that Natasha St Pier sang a few months earlier in Alençon.
At the end of the meal to which the various religious communities and the volunteers of the Sanctuary were invited, each congregation of the diocese presented itself to the new sisters. The cloistered communities were present by prayer and by some photos that they sent.
Finally, everyone went to the chapel on rue Saint-Blaise for vespers followed by the blessing of each piece of the enclosure and the installation of the Blessed Sacrament in the oratory of the sisters.
The Sanctuary team wishes them a beautiful mission with Saints Louis and Zélie, may it bear much fruit inspired by the Holy Spirit!
