Wedding anniversary – “A new lease of life for our marriage, under God’s benevolent gaze”
Danielle and Christian came to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary in Alençon, during the Saint Valentine pilgrimage last February.
"To celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary on February 14th, we were looking for something special, something unique, and we turned to the Valentine's Day pilgrimage of the Louis & Zélie Sanctuary (which we already knew, by the way…). To be honest, we didn't really know what to expect, and were a little anxious about it…
We came back transformed, both as individuals and as a couple. Everything was exceptional:
- The presenters, who courageously and sincerely shared their experiences as a couple, thus enlightening our thinking.
- Walking as a couple allowed us to refocus and recharge in the Alençon countryside.
- Father Thierry Hénault-Morel's presentation on the spirituality of Louis & Zélie, which once again enlightened us, if it were still necessary, on the modernity and relevance of this holy couple…
All of this has allowed us to truly "be reborn", to give new impetus to our marriage, to start again on a sound footing under the benevolent gaze of God.
Over the years, we had somewhat lost sight of the fact that we shouldn't just live as a couple, but as a family of three, with the Lord as our daily companion. "God first" is a motto we now strive to live by every day, to our great joy…
In addition, the weekend was rounded off with a superb candlelit dinner on the evening of the 14th.
A (very moving) deposit of prayer intentions in the cradle of Saint Thérèse and an exchange of letters, written in one go, from the heart, which we made on the Bridge of the Meeting… completed this pilgrimage filled with graces and breathing the love of our Lord.
Thank you to all the speakers, the organizers, Father Thierry, and the lovely pilgrim couple who shared these unforgettable moments of faith with us, allowing us to embark on a renewed path, accompanied by God and under the protection of Saints Louis and Zélie.
