Tendance Ouest – 30.000 pilgrims boost tourism in Alençon

In 2019, for the first time in Alençon (Orne), the annual number of pilgrims will exceed the number of inhabitants. At the end of August 2019: 136 groups were welcomed, compared to only 118 for the whole of 2018. In the past, pilgrims came to see the birthplace of Sainte-Thérèse.
From now on, if they always come for Thérèse, they also come for her canonized parents: Louis and Zélie Martin. The sanctuary must organize itself to cope with its growth!
