Welcoming a mission around the relics of the holy spouses Martin
Each year, the Alençon sanctuary organizes several missions in the parishes and dioceses that request it. A delegation from the Sanctuary accompanies the reliquaries present in Alençon, including the large reliquary of Saints Louis and Zélie Martin. More than a devotional endeavor, these are primarily genuine missions involving teachings, time dedicated to children and young people, and evangelization through the mediation of the Saints. Times of veneration (liturgical seasons) are integrated into an evangelization process within the framework of a mission.
The prayer vigils around the relics of the first canonized couple in the history of the Church are particularly attractive. The intentions deposited are brought back to the conjugal room of Saints Louis and Zélie, placed in the cradle of little Thérèse.
The mission program is developed with the parish, the deanery or the diocese that hosts. Program in which schools, retirement homes, local sanctuaries, religious communities, etc. can also be integrated.
Please note: these relics are intended for temporary missions only, within the context of a community or diocese. The Sanctuary does not give relics away on an individual or permanent basis.
