In the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon with Saints Louis, Zélie, Thérèse
Diversity, fervor, missionary enthusiasm
Five members of the sanctuary of Alençon are returning from the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon after an eleven-day mission taking them successively to three parishes, a primary school/college complex, a patronage, the two sanctuaries of Cotignac, the diocesan seminary of Castile and finally three nursing homes
The times of prayer around the relics of Saints Louis, Zélie and their daughter Thérèse brought together a great diversity of audiences, ecclesial sensibilities and communities. The approximately 1 people met form a large and very intergenerational audience. The fervor was there, whether during the opening times of churches for personal prayer or at prayer vigils. The discovery of the Martin parents, during the conferences, makes it possible to understand that, if they are from an era, their life project and their daily testimony is very current. In the city of Toulon, city of an important garrison, young couples are numerous and they were very present during this journey. Visiting the two sanctuaries of Cotignac (Notre-Dame de Grâce and Saint Joseph de Bessillon) was part of the trip to Draguignan.
During this mission, the place of young people and children occupied a great place. In Toulon, the prayer vigil, preceded by a time to reflect on the command "honor your father and your mother" by presenting family life among the Martins, and in Draguignan, the vigil organized by young professionals, shows a dynamism faith. At the seminary of Castile, where Bishop Rey had come for the prayer vigil, the forty seminarians showed a universal geographical origin. Elders who can no longer move were not forgotten. It is important for the elderly to go to residences where faith is sometimes lived in “dotted lines”.
The many prayer intentions brought back to be placed in the cradle of Thérèse's birthplace also express the many frailties and ills that affect couples, families and many people in search of paths of peace, family harmony, happiness. and health which are so often lacking.
It is in this that the very incarnate faith of the parents of Saint Thérèse and the promise of the Carmelite nun of Lisieux to do good on earth open paths of fervor and hope.
